35e festival international de mode, de photographie et d’accessoires de mode, Hyères

On the occasion of the 35th international festival of fashion, photography and fashion accessories in Hyères, the festival catalogue was published by the Villa Noailles. A few pages illustrate François-Marie Banier's personal exhibition in parallel with many other artists exhibiting at the festival until 29 October 2020. THE EXHIBITION WILL BE EXTENDED UNTIL 23 MAY 2021.  

The Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar (MIA) has dedicated an exhibition to Sheikh Saud Al Thani and his large collection of antiques, jewellery and modern art. The exhibition catalogue published by the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha devotes several pages to the works of François-Marie Banier who, for the occasion, lent the museum several of his photographs taken of the Sheikh during their various meetings. This exhibition can be seen until 10 April 2021.

The catalogue François-Marie Banier, Marie-Laure de Noailles has just been published on the occasion of the solo exhibition of François-Marie Banier during the 35th edition of the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fashion Accessories, at the Villa Noailles in Hyères. A large number of documents are published illustrating the friendship between Marie-Laure de Noailles and François-Marie Banier, including his own photographs of Marie-Laure de Noailles—on which he sometimes painted or wrote—, letters, interviews, and items from the artist’s personal collection. The exhibition and catalogue were designed by Martin d’Orgeval.

Marrakesh Flair

François-Marie Banier lent a photograph of him accompanied by Yves Saint Laurent in Marrakech in 1970 for the publication of Marrakesh Flair, published by Assouline Editions. This book brings together images and texts showing the beauty and culture of the city of Marrakech. Several personalities have lived or spent time there, including Yves Saint-Laurent, a great friend of François-Marie Banier.

François-Marie Banier is very pleased to announce the release of his book Dreamers, Catalogue irraisonnable Vol. 1 published by Steidl.   Here I am For twenty years of my life I did manual labor. In order to adapt, my body changed : my hands widened, my spine stiffened. But the principal transformation was in tolerating danger. Every day the newspapers report the death of workers on the job. Each year in Italy there are more than a thousand – an account leaving out the countless injured and disabled.
